Rumours surrounding the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 have transitioned from pictures of the back panel of the device to the actual look (or so it’s speculated) of the back itself. Either way, since the Redmi Note is getting a bit outdated by smartphone standards, it’s only about time it starts working on the successor.
Just weeks ago, the back panel of the purported smartphone was pictured and now, we’re seeing snaps of the top portion of the unit’s seemingly sexy back. This leaked image comes courtesy of a Chinese source, mydrivers, that also divulged some of its unofficial specifications.
But looking at the picture of the device itself, it seems to be somewhat different from the panel we saw before – so take what you see or read with a pinch of salt since one or both of these images may not be the absolute truth.
The most obvious difference is that the camera is smack in the middle of the of the top of the smartphone in this shot, while the back panel from the previous leak indicated to it positioned on the left hand side of the back. This image also shows the mi logo embossed onto the back panel under the camera, but the former shows the mi logo in gold towards the bottom of the device.
The Redmi Note 2 has been previously said to come with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 3500mAh battery, dual-SIM support, and a 13 MP rear snapper.
But going by the inscription on this image, it seems the Redmi Note 2 will sport an 8 MP rear camera, although it’s hard to tell for sure if that’s what it states. The Redmi Note 2 is also speculated to cost just CNY 1499 (RM806), so whatever the case, it’s hard to complain about its specs.
