Aussie born music service Guvera makes its debut in Malaysia

Yes, another music streaming service, but it'll reward its top listeners

Developed to combat rampant online piracy, Guvera provides users with a legal method to get their music fix.

Another Spotify or Deezer, you say? Yes, it shares a lot in common with the other established streaming services. The ad-funded Guvera Play free service lets users listen to the latest music both internationally and locally. It also curates special playlists featuring Malaysian artists such as Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and Faizal Tahir to name a few, with added plans to further the growth of their music catalogue.

The feature that sets it apart from the rest is the ability for users to search for music using hashtags as well as rewarding the top listeners with special offers from Guvera's music partners. To celebrate their entry into the country, Guvera is staging a concert this Friday in Kuala Lumpur which is headlined by local talents SonaOne, Joe Flizzow and hip hop star and actor Mos Def.

For those who want unlimited listening and lesser ad interference, Guvera's premium service Guvera Platinum costs RM14.99 per month, giving you unlimited online access and offline listening.

In a partnership with Lenovo, Guvera will be pre-loaded on their tablets and mobile devices out of the box. Guvera Play and Platinum will be available on iOS and Android as well as on the web.
