The Asus Strix Series GL502 is a compact gaming powerhouse

Only 2.2kg, it offers powerful gaming specs

Asus has just brought over its latest 15.6in gaming laptop, the Strix GL502 that offers nice specs while minimising bulk.

Powering it is a quad-core i7 Intel 6700HQ processor, 16GB 2133MHz DDR4 RAM (the machine supports up to 32GB) and an M.2 NVMe PCIe x4 SSD. A highlight is its 15.6in screen with non-glare-in-plane switching UHD with a 178-degree viewing angle to create a display that looks good without being too hard on the eyes. The GPU on the laptop is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM. There's also a Type-C port, HDMI and three USB 3.0 ports.

Despite the specs, it weighs just 2.2kg and has a 23.5mm height. To keep things cool, Asus has fitted a cooling system that utilises dual fans and copper heat pipes, cooling the CPU and GPU independently.

The chiclet keyboard is also optimised for gaming with 1.8mm of travel distance, with the WASD keys highlighted for easy access. As for battery life, it comes with a 4-cell battery rated at 62/64WHR.

All this won't come cheap though, expect to be able to pick it up from your nearest Asus authorised dealer for RM6999.
