Acer ups the specs for the Switch 10, but keeps price low in Malaysia

Second iteration of the Acer Switch sees a better hinge and battery life

Acer formally unveiled the Acer Switch 10 E at the launch of its store at Quill City Mall. The 2-in-1 hybrid device is an update to the first Acer Switch, also a 10.1-inch, 1280x800 resolution tablet  with an attachable keyboard.

There are two variants of the machine: the first, priced at RM1,099 comes with 64GB of flash storage while the more expensive RM1,399 version comes with 32GB flash storage and a 500GB hard disk. Both run on Intel Atom quad-core processors, a minimal (non-upgradeable) 2GB of RAM, Windows 8.1 and a free year of Office 365.

What it really changed in the machine is the bigger 8060 mAh battery that Acer claims can last up to 12 hours. Five colour variants are also available and the machine is now on sale at official Acer retailers.
