DJI’s not the only one coming out with a new compact gimbal this month - Zhiyun, a China-based company that specialises in stabiliser accessories for cameras and smartphones, has recently announced the Crane-M2 compact gimbal. The M2 is a new addition to their Crane gimbal line-up which is lightweight, affordable and compact that can be paired with smartphones, small point-and-shoot cameras, or action cameras.
The Zhiyun Crane-M2 features a 3-axis motored stabiliser that allows a maximum payload of 720g which supports the earlier claim that it’s marketed primarily to smaller devices and not DSLRs or mirrorless cameras - perfect for on-the-go traveloggers and vloggers alike. The gimbal itself weighs only at 500g, features an OLED display for settings, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity via its ZY companion app, and a battery life of 7 hours that can topped up via USB-C charging.
The M2 is available for pre-order at a retail price of USD 270 (~MYR 1,112) at several online retailers such as Amazon or Adorama, and is expected to be shipped out sometime in August.
