Dragon Quest XI was one of the first games to be announced for the Nintendo Switch, back when it was still codenamed the NX. Now, it is confirmed that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age S will be coming in September, with a pretty sweet controller too.
Say hello to the Dragon Quest Slime Pro Controller; if it looks familiar that's because it was originally as a Dualshock 4 controller when Dragon Quest XI was released on the PS4. Shaped like the mascots of the Dragon Quest series, this goopy slime hides a whole controller on its underside. Square Enix also made this controller for the PS2 back in 2004 for the release of Dragon Quest VIII.
Functionally, it works just like a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, keeping all the buttons, thumbsticks, and motion controls. What makes this even more special is that the Slime controller also comes with some cardboard accessories, like a crown for your slime and a treasure chest to display your Nintendo Switch.
This new controller will be out the same time as Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age on the 27th of September.
