1 Second Everyday (Free)
Ever wonder where the past year or two has gone to? 1 Second Everyday is here to help jog your memory – by encouraging you to record a single second of your life every day. You can then stich them together later to view as a single video. You can record directly from the app, and it can also search your already recorded videos and pull them in, sorted by date. It's free for the first 30 days – if you want to continue your lifelogging adventure beyond that, you'll have to pony up US$0.99.
Sine Mora (US$5.99)
Side-scrolling shoot-em-up Sine Mora has already seen success on PC, XBLA, PS3 and iOS – now Android users can finally get their hands on it. You take control of an airplane flying through seven different landscapes, shooting at enemies, dodging obstacles and taking on boss battles. There’s no health meter here, but time is of the essence, and you’ll only have a certain amount of time in which to complete the level. There are over 50 weapon combos to discover and a number of different modes and difficulty levels to increase its replayability.
Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded (Free)
Those who played and loved Leisure Suit Larry back in the late 80s and 90s will know the drill here. This is a reskinned version of the first game, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, with the same storyline and risqué humour, but with new high-res graphics, a new musical score and thousands of new puns and dirty jokes. This is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, with over 14,000 people chipping in to bring Larry back to life.
Twisty Launcher (Free)
From Samsung’s Galaxy S4 to Motorola’s new Moto X, gestures are a big deal in smartphones right now. You don’t need to have a next gen smartphone to get this functionality though – some smart cookie has piled all the know how into a free-to-download app. Twisty Launcher allows you assign three of your favourite apps to gestures. It’s always on the look out too, so you can gesture whenever you want – even within another app – and Twisty Launcher will recognise it and load the designated app.
Described as a “dastardly duel for two”, Gentlemen! requires an Android tablet (7 inches or above) to play, and a friend. You each take one end of the tablet, and play as one of two moustachioed Victorian gentlemen looking to, ultimately, do the other one over. It’s a fast-paced game, with weapons at your disposal including knives, bombs and, erm, homing pigeons. Even gravity can be used to your advantage…
