There's no better way to escape the bedlam of a festive turkey disaster than to dive straight into the latest game. Want to simulate a goat? You can. Fight post-apocalyptic zombies? You can.
But, sometimes, thumb-mashing escapology just isn't enough - gamers need to accessorise, too, you know.
From the Nintendo NES Classic Mini to cracking controllers, we've compiled the ultimate combo of gaming gear to help your square-eyed friend level up.
Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle (RM1375)
This bundle's is for the Xbox fan and includes a 1TB Xbox One console, Xbox One wireless controller, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, 30 games from Rare Replay, Ori and the Blind Forest full game download and Xbox 360 Gears of War collection. Well, that's your Christmas break settled.
Fallout 4 (RM239)
There are prettier games on the Xbox One – quite a few, actually – but what Fallout 4 lacks in graphical sheen, it makes up for with just about everything else. Building upon the beloved foundation of Fallout 3, the latest drops you into a post-apocalyptic Boston as you explore the wasteland, take on exciting and varied quests, and pour hours into building your own weapons and fortresses. The scale is incredible, and so too is the fun.
Rise of the Tomb Raider (RM188)
Building off of the brilliant 2013 reboot, Rise of the Tomb Raider delivers another captivating Lara Croft adventure – this time exclusive for Xbox players. Like the last game, it's more of a gung-ho action affair than the earlier entries, smartly taking Uncharted as an obvious role model.
Still, Rise thankfully strikes a fair compromise, delivering several fantastic tombs to explore at your desire, plus you can employ stealth rather than slay every last goon in sight.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III (RM239)
War never changes: in the case of Call of Duty, it just gets bigger and shinier. Black Ops III is the most compelling Xbox One package to date, delivering even more excellent multiplayer action, this time with specialist classes and further-futuristic loadouts.
Zombies mode returns with a memorable new adventure, plus the ol' story campaign is pure spectacle. Multiplayer alone makes Black Ops III worth a look, but there's just so much here to enjoy.
