In a few hours, 2014 will be a year to remember. The Stuff team has seen so many changes, and honestly, it’s hard to keep up.
But for every announcement and product launch, there’s always one defining moment that will forever be etched in our minds. You might even share the same sentiment with us, so here’s what knocked our socks off in 2014.
Motorola Moto 360
To us, the term “biggest” refers to something that got crazy mass interest – and Motorola’s Moto 360 did just that. This Android compatible wearable device looks stunning enough to stand out against the pack of other smartwatches and also boasts some pretty impressive specs. We reckon it will go head to head with the Apple Watch when the latter becomes available through retail.
Witnessing the Apple iPhone launch
Hands down, the Apple launch event back in September was my big tech deal of the year. To be in the same coffee line as Craig Federighi, experience the buzz in the same auditorium as Tim Cook, and be one of the few in Singapore who has ever strapped on the Apple Watch was pretty darn amazing. My only regret is not hitting the merch store down at One Infinite Loop, boo hoo. But maybe that's a blessing in disguise for my bank balance…
The next-gen gaming console cometh
For too long, I’ve been twiddling my thumbs, waiting for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. And it was a real blast, finally playing games as it was meant to be - on full HD resolution. Sure, some might argue that PC gaming has already done that. But it still doesn’t beat the feel of holding that controller and be amazed at the level of detail, without worrying about hardware limitations.
