Remember the times when you spent hours in front of your PC playing Solitaire or Minesweeper? It might not be wasted after all.
In honor of Solitaire’s 25th anniversary, Microsoft has launched a challenge to the world, summoning all Solitaire players to join in a Solitaire Tournament. Yes, you are invited too.
While the preparations are going on for the tournament, Microsoft is already seeking the best Solitaire players within their ranks internally by hosting a competition that pits employees against each other. Once the best in Microsoft in found, they will take on the public from the 5 June onwards.
If you are interested and would want to pit your skills against the best, you still have some time to brush up your skills so you can bring your A-game to the table.
Solitaire was first introduced to PCs on 18 May 1990 and it has undergone a series of changes and spawned a few spin offs such as Klondike, FreeCell, Spider,Pyramid and TriPeaks. You are able to compete in these games too but nothing beats playing the original Solitaire.
This somewhat makes up for the fact that Solitaire was not installed by default on Windows 8. No news yet on prizes but it would give you a lot of bragging rights to be able to beat someone on Solitaire that isn't you.
