Like clockwork, twice a year, the goblins at OnePlus quietly keep churning out the features that their fans and master ask of them. In this year’s ’T’ update, the venerable OnePlus 7 has received generous gains that bring it closer to the Pro than ever before.
Although the form factor has remained the same, the water drop notch that holds the front camera is now even smaller, increasing the screen to body ratio of the 7T. The screen itself is a wider aspect ratio too at 20:9 instead of the 7’s 19:9, so you get the drift...there is more of everything now!
What’s not incremental are the camera upgrades though. Now with three lenses, main, ultra-wide and telephoto (2x optical), the 7T also gets Macro shooting capability that will allow you to get as close to a Black Widow as you dare. Add enhanced Nightscape mode and the 7T is ready to take on the competition and probably beat them at their own game!
Frosted silver or Glacier blue, regardless of the finish you hold in your hand, the OnePlus 7T feels luxurious. The matte glass back and the HDR10+ AMOLED screen make for a perfect match. But it’s the 90Hz smooth motion display that really catches your eye when you start using the phone. The buttery smooth transitions and scrolls as you go through web pages just makes it easier on the eyes.
The Warp charging is even faster now and the Oxygen OS10 only enhances Android with subtle, but meaningful customisations. The cameras, especially Nightscape, seems vastly improved and we're looking forward to the full test.
Always known to have the fastest processors in their phones, the OnePlus 7T pushes the boundaries with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ that is claimed to be 15% faster for graphics processing while capable of handling complex tasks in parallel.
You can focus on a subject from as close as 2.5cm away with the all-new Macro mode, but more importantly, the OnePlus Ultrashot engine uses powerful algorithms to determine multiple parameters and apply appropriate post-processing deepening on the light conditions.
