What Hi-Fi Show 2017

The biggest hi-fi and home-theatre spectacle in the country is around the corner. Have you topped up your credit limit already?

The eighth edition of the popular What Hi-Fi? Show is returning to its home-base in Mumbai after enchanting audiences in Bengaluru and New Delhi.

Organised by the same folks who churn out hundreds of high-end AV tests at What Hi-Fi? (India) magazine, the show promises to bring the best of what’s available in the country under one roof. The show comprises amplifiers, loudspeakers, AV processors, AV furniture, specialist acoustic tuning solutions, projectors, televisions, media streamers, architect-friendly home-theatres and much much more.

Spread over three sprawling levels of Mumbai’s most premium 5-star hotel, The St. Regis, this is a show that shouts luxury. At the same time, there are plenty of products on demo and display that could lure you with their affordability and innovative nature. Want a solution that can convert any flat surface into a speaker? Check. Want a TV that turns into a mirror for the dresser? Check. Like to have a little gold on your loudspeakers? Check that too!

Some of the bigger highlights at the show will include Benq’s first 4K DLP projector that claims an eye-popping resolution of 8.3million pixels that get massaged by abbreviations like THX and REC709. Epson on the other hand will be demonstrating a potent laser-light based projector to compete with the sun’s brightness.

Meanwhile, in the LG room, you will be able to witness the glory of OLED, slated to become the next big thing in the world of video and rightly so. The LG 4K OLED range is the first in the world to support the generic HDR 10 as well as the premium Dolby Vision, making your movies a little bit more bearable even if they start with Fast and end with Furious.
