Find out what's cooking with the latest endeavor by Uber
Uber is at it again and after adding another layer of feature to make your commuting life easier with its 'schedule a ride option' has outdone itself by launching a spanking new standalone app aimed at foodies.
Uber has partnered with local restaurants to bring you food on demand. Its UberEATS app is currently available in 58 cities and after having launched in Bangkok, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taipei it will next come to India. Based on its request forms for restaurant and delivery partners, major Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai will be covered. UberEATS was launched as a delivery pilot in Los Angeles in 2014.
The new food delivery system will enable you to get piping hot food at the push of a button and as easy as requesting a ride thanks to the Uber delivery network.
This venture follows a similar one made by Ola, which pulled out of the market thanks to aggressive competition from Swiggy.
This is a significant investment for UberEATS as it spans multiple cities and regions and has the potential to change the food industry in one of the most vibrant food cultures in the world. The company is currently looking to set up a network of restaurants, restaurant partners and delivery partners in India before the service goes live.
