Tata’s making electric vehicles and it’s starting with the Nexon

Get ready for an electrified ecosystem...

It’s not often that you spot Mr. Ratan Tata himself at a launch event. That itself is testimony to the fact that the Tata Nexon EV is a strong contender in the EV game.

The fuel guzzling machines we drive today need to pave way for greener options and Tata Group is leading the pack with eyes set on the future. In these environmentally conscious times, it was a refreshing change to see the collective effort made by Tata Group of companies towards making ‘electric future’ a reality with the Nexon EV. We love the idea of a sustainable future with e-mobility at its core and making EVs mainstream in the coming years. Here’s why...

It’s an affordable eco-friendly proposition

Unlike other sustainable mobility options, the tempting launch price of ₹13,99,000 on the Tata Nexon EV is a big draw for an average car buyer. A thrilling ride, up-to-date and connected universe inside and zero emissions, the conscience of the urban explorer will thank Tata Motors for their relentless efforts. These eco-friendly wheels also happen to be quite good looking, making your ride free of carbon footprint and an attractive one! Available in three colour options – Signature Teal Blue, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White – an efficient high voltage system, fast charging capability, extended battery life and a multimedia system compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay tick all the right boxes for this new kid on the block.

High on integrity quotient

The price tag isn’t the only draw here. CEOs of Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Motors Finance and Croma have joined hands to create a functional e-mobility ecosystem, Tata uniEVerse. Starting from finance solutions – giving preferential interest rates on loans and ease of sanctioning them – to offering charging solutions, innovative retail experiences through Croma and from manufacturing the battery to its ethical recycling, they’ve thought about it all. Besides providing charging solutions at home upon purchase, workplace and public charging solutions are being expanded with each passing minute.

Subscribe to save…

In a first for electric cars, individuals and corporates can now opt for an annual subscription of the top-spec model of vehicle, the Nexon EV ZX+. This directly means that you leave behind the hassles that are synonymous with vehicle ownership in the first place. Cheaper than your standard EMIs, a subscription ensures you’re free from the cycle of down payment, insurance, service and maintenance. Once your time’s up, you can either extend the subscription or, if you’ve got used to being behind the wheel of this eco-friendly SUV, pay the settlement charge and take it home as a proud owner.

All that is fine, par deti kitna hai?

No matter how gorgeous your wheels are, this is a question on every Indian’s mind. Though this ain’t no Usain Bolt, the 320V battery on this one does claim to go all the way up to 312km on a single charge, and that, my friend, is a pretty decent range. You can easily plan a weekend getaway to a nearby destination, until charging solutions see a facelift across the country. Don’t expect Tesla-level numbers here, but the stamina of reaching 0-100kmph in under 10 seconds is one to be appreciated as well.
