Called the Galaxy S20, S20+ and the S20 Ultra, Samsung’s next S series took a quantum leap from the numbering game, skipping a whole 10 generations.
The new S20s are ready to take on the world with powerful internals and loads of features. So if you are on a budget and want to switch to a Samsung, then the S20 is a great upgrade to your existing handset, while Samsung fans can upgrade to the S20+, which is a superb option with a blend of price and performance. All the three devices embrace a 120Hz QuadHD Super AMOLED 2X Infinity-O displays (6.2in, 6.7in and 6.9in respectively) and are powered by octa-core processors with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The S20 gets a tri-camera 12MP+12MP+64MP setup while the S20+ gets a quad-camera setup with similar specs (12MP+12MP+64MP) but adds a depth camera to the mix. Both flaunt a 10MP punch hole selfie camera upfront.
However, big brother gets the best features –– a quad-camera 108MP 100x zoom setup on the rear and a 40MP selfie camera up front. The phones are powered by 4000mAh, 4500mAh and 5000mAh batteries respectively, a decent upgrade over the S10 generation. The handsets will be available in Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue, Cloud Pink and Cosmic Black colours.
And not forgetting the Samsung Galaxy Buds which took to it’s next version. The Buds+ now has a new design with a longer battery life of up to 11 hours with an additional 11 hours from the charging case. The Buds+ also sport three microphones and 2-way speakers for a promising audio performance.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 is priced from $999 (approx. ₹71,000), the Galaxy S20+ from $1199 (approx. ₹85,000) and the Galaxy S20 Ultra from $1399 (approx. 99,000). These will not replace the existing Galaxy S10 lineup but rather add to the S series as ultra-premium smartphone options.
