We’re the first market to lay our hands properly on the Honor 5X, which has been making waves ever since the world got a closer look at it during CES 2016. But the 5X is just the latest in a long line of well-specced, uber-gorgeous products that Honor has launched in India over the past year.
The global launch of Honor 5X launch (yes, we’re the first country to get the 5X!) was a much-awaited affair. Not too surprising ‘cos the 5X is a rather well-specced-out affair - a sleek-and-slim body made from aviation-grade metal, a sharp, vibrant IPS display, Qualcomm’s latest processor, 4G, and some astonishingly great cameras.
But there’s more to the 5X - and one feature buyers finicky about usability should love is the super-speedy and super-versatile fingerprint scanner - which doesn’t just make the smartphone experience a lot more seamless, but takes it up a notch thanks to a remarkable feature set - wanna launch apps from the lock screen? Call your girlfriend to say you’re skipping work to meet her for coffee? Message your boss you’re sick? It’s all very easy with the 5X...
Along with the 5X, Indian smartphone addicts also got another surprise present this week - the new Holly 2 Plus, which somehow manages to pack in a massive, 4000mAh battery in a rather compact package, and then makes the most of it by acting as a power bank for your other gadgets. And if you’re still deciding which of these suit your style more, Honor also covers both devices with a 15-month warranty, along with one-month LCD protection cover for you butter-fingered types.
Hang on! Honor’s been pushing out cool, new stuff every so often
Okay, so the 5X might be the coolest new phone in a while, but you know what, it’s the latest in a long line of uber-sexy devices the folks over at Honor have launched in India. Let’s take a look at the Honor 6 Plus - the world’s first device with a parallel dual camera. But don’t let the innovative camera overshadow its slim design, crisp display, and tough, near-unbreakable body. And then there was the all-metal Honor 7, which packed in a 5.2in screen and fingerprint sensor and a 20MP camera.
But Honor makes a lot more than just smartphones, and for the fitness nuts who’re more likely to be found running outdoors when everyone else is struggling to get out of bed, there’s the Honor Band Z1, a tough-yet-stylish fitness tracker that they can also wear to work without looking like a wayward marathon runner.
There’s a lot more on offer from Honor (http://hihonor.in/) if you’re in the market for a new device and are kinda picky about where you plonk your money down.
Keep an eye out for EMUI 4 - the coolest Android version ever
One of the coolest things about getting an Honor device is the simple-yet-feature-packed EMUI - it’s clean, refreshingly free of bloatware, and packs in just the sort of features you’ll actually use every day. After all, a well-designed UI that looks good and is also easy to navigate is usually the defining aspect of your smartphone experience.
And with the release of EMUI 4 just around the corner, you can expect to see Android Marshmallow on your device earlier than your pals - yup, let them look on in envy as they wait for Lollipop, when you cruise along with the latest, greatest version of Android!
