Oppo is well-known (or rumoured) for putting its smartphones through a tough mixture of healthy eating and hardcore training, which includes weights and a healthy dose of crossfit thrown in for good measure. No wonder, then, they keep pushing the boundaries of how thin a smartphone could be. But that’s just one theory.
In keeping with what the mad scientists at its HQ are up to, Oppo India has just launched two beauties in the R7 series - the R7 Plus (₹29,990) and the R7 Lite (₹17,990) and they’re definitely toeing the Oppo waistline.
With a new Android 5.1 Lollipop-based ColorOS 2.1 featuring in both the models, Oppo claims to have made strides in everything from speed, efficiency and stability. From opening apps to loading heavy games to boot time, expect a much quicker experience. Both phones offer 13MP (rear) and 8MP (front) snappers for the click-happy and vanity-indulgent brigade.
The R7 Plus is the bigger of the two with a 6in Full HD (1920x1080) display as compared to the Lite which has a 5in display with a 1280x720 resolution. Both offer 4G capabilities; irritating calls from telecallers with 4G plans incoming in 3... 2… (sigh!) The R7 boasts a 1.5GHz think tank while the Lite harbours a 1.3GHz one, both from Qualcomm.
The obvious differences trickle down to the RAMS - 3GB for the Plus and 2GB for the Lite, with 32GB and 16GB memories respectively. The multimedia-centric Plus will house a 4100mAh battery with Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charger which claims to provide the safest, quickest charging possible. The daily go-getter specific Oppo R7 Lite houses a 2320mAh battery and while VOOC is not available, it offers a rapid charging option too.
The Oppo R7 Lite will be available from September 10, and the Plus from September 25.
