Mumbai joins Vodafone’s 4G party

Vodafone throws 4G gates open with inaugural goodies to make Santa jealous

Having had to wait and see Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata and Delhi Vodafone brethren breach the 4G barrier, Mumbai subscribers of the network provider cheered collectively as 4G was officially launched in the city this morning. With enough whooping and camaraderie to rival a gang playing beer pong at a college party, Vodafone today rolled out the 4G bandwagon, starting with south, western and suburban Mumbai, covering prominent business and residential corridors, with other parts of Mumbai promised an upgrade soon.

Coverage for all of Mumbai, including eastern suburbs and Navi Mumbai should be completed by end of March 2016, so it’s not that long a wait. The official launch was inaugurated by the Hon. CM of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, a subscriber himself, who wished Vodafone the best for its 4G innings.

Gearing up to provide all its subscribers 4G connectivity through a hassle-free transition is the key focus, believes Vodafone. For starters, subscribers who already possess a 4G-capable handset can simply call Customer Care or walk into one of Vodafone’s many outlets to replace the old SIM with a 4G-ready SIM. There’s also a unique door-step delivery option for post-paid members - we see Vodafone gaining some serious brownie points here.

Goodies on the table include 100 percent extra data for Vodafone RED customers for a month (with similar offers for prepaid users to be announced shortly), three months of complimentary subscription to TV, movies and music on Vodafone Play, and a lot more, as part of the inaugural “feel good” package. Told you, this is one bag of goodies you wouldn’t want to miss.

Vodafone subscribers, head to a Vodafone store, call Customer Care service or head to the website for more details. Non-Vodafone subscribers, hope you enjoyed a good read.
