Meet Tabby – a child-friendly, pocket-friendly Canvas tablet from Micromax

Switch onto the specially designed “Kids-use” mode, and you have your very own electronic Mary Poppins to guide, entertain and educate your child safely

You want to give your kids the best, but it hurts your retina to see those grubby fingerprints on your precious iPad, doesn’t it? Why not give them a tablet of their own? Especially one that’s not too heavy on the wallet (you know how slippery little fingers can be) and comes with parental control. Which is what this Canvas Tabby is.

Powered by EddyPaddy, developed by kids-content company Educren, the Canvas Tabby comes preloaded with over 100 originally designed applications. To save you the trouble of sourcing age-appropriate content, it also provides access to over 500 carefully curated videos for education, creativity and entertainment, and allows you to create up to three distinct children profiles. Makes us wish someone did this for us grown-ups too.

Of course, there’s nothing to stop you from using the Micromax Canvas Tabby, really. Simply switch to the Parent mode, and you’re set. At 6499, it’s a fully functional 7in tab running on Android KitKat 4.4 with a 1.3Ghz processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM, a 3200Mah battery, 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. Quick word of caution here: do remember to wipe out the history if and when you’re being naughty.
