Lenovo’s K4 Note packs in Dolby Atmos sound

And there’s a VR headset as well for the die-hard movie fan

Lenovo’s taken a lot of pains to ensure the K4 Note isn’t just thought of as a mere update to last year’s uber-popular K3 Note. That’s why the specs take a backseat to design and multimedia prowess.

You heard that right (and probably in Surround Sound) - the K4 Note gives you a Dolby Atmos audio experience from its twin, 1.5W speakers. And there’s a HiFi Wolfson DAC for anyone really serious about their music.

But the multimedia madness doesn’t stop at the Atmos + HiFi DAC pairing. Nope, you get 3-mic tech for better voice calling (which we reckon could also be used for laying down what your wild imagination says will be the next Billboard chartbuster). The K4 Note also has a 5.5in Full HD display, with colour balance tweaking and a 1000:1 contrast ratio for the finicky cine-fan. Lenovo’s also decided to leverage the display to introduce its new TheaterMax tech - which lets you watch movies and play games through a headset provided by AntVR - giving what, at first glance, seems like a pretty neat big-screen experience.

Moving on to the design part, Lenovo will be introducing leather covers for their new phone, and will also release a set of real wood back plates.

But what if you care more about watching Game of Thrones in all its uncensored glory on your next flight without attracting the wrath of your uptight co-passengers? Well, there’s a Mediatek 6753 processor inside, with 3GB RAM. Backing this up is a 3300mAh battery to make sure you can also get through a Director’s Cut of whatever boring, artsy movie you like, along with 801.11ac Wi-Fi, dual SIM, 4G, NFC and USB OTG for when you find that 16GB storage and microSD support just ain’t enough.

As for the cameras, there’s a 13MP one (featuring Phase-Detect autofocus) at the rear, and a 5MP camera at the front. And rounding all this off is the coolest thing to hit smartphones - a fingerprint scanner.

The Lenovo K4 Note will be available on Amazon India starting January 19, 2016, with an MRP of 11,999. The AntVR Headset will run you 1299, but there’s a special bundle offer that nets you phone and headset at 12,499.
