Yes, that was a forced Star Wars reference. When one hears the word ‘Evok’, the only thing that comes to mind is the amusingly adorable Ewoks - furry, biped natives of the Forest Moon of Endor. But we digress. Coming back to the point: Micromax has something that’ll be as helpful an ally to the modern smartphone user (read “millenial”), if not more, than the namesakes were to the Rebel Alliance at the Battle of Endor.

Micromax’s 8499, Android Lollipop-sporting smartphone is aimed at young professionals who demand more from a smartphone. These young Jedis are all the same - always wanting more. Ah well, stepping up to the challenge, the Evok is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 1.4GHz Octa Core processor, 3GB RAM with 16GB memory (expandable to 32GB through a microSD card) on board.

The 4G-capable smartphone sports a slick 5.5in HD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display. There’s even a set of 13MP (rear) and 5MP (front) cameras on board to appease click-friendly Jedis. With a 3000mAh battery on board to keep the Dark Side at bay, the Micromax Canvas Evok will officially be unleashed on May 17 2016, i.e., tomorrow, exclusively on
