This hub will supercharge your new MacBook's single USB-C port

Put off by the new MacBook's weak connection game? Your prayers have been answered

We really like the minuscule new MacBook. Its combines the best of the 11in and 13in MacBook Airs, and its sleek profile and clean design belongs on a plinth at a modern art museum. But that minimalism comes at a price - namely, a single USB-C port, a headphone jack, and, well, absolutely nothing else whatsoever.

Enter the Nonda Hub+. It connects to the sole USB-C port and offers three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, a mini display port, and an SDXC card reader, making up for all of the MacBook's conectivity shortcomings. Almost.

There's still no ethernet port, which means you'll have to stick one of those into the hub if there's no Wi-Fi connection in sight. On the plus side, there's a built-in 400mAh battery which promises to squeeze up to an extra 2.5 hours of talk time from an iPhone 6.

The Hub+ is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, where it's currently amassed US$162,510, of its US$35,000 goal at the time of writing. Head over to the Kickstarter page now, where you can pre-order one from US$80 for a silver hub, or a crazy US$4000 for a 24K gold version.

Delivery is expected to be in July 2015, and Nonda has pormised gold and grey versions if it reaches US$250,000. But no platinum. That would just be silly.
