Resident Evil Zero being remastered
Capcom has a long-held tendency to bring its classic Resident Evil games to as many platforms as it can manage, and the trend continues on with yesterday's announcement of a remastered Resident Evil Zero for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It follows this spring's release of the remastered GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil.
Zero serves as a prequel to the original game, and was first released in 2002 for GameCube. Director Koji Oda and other original staffers are returning for the remaster, but no other details were revealed about the project aside from a release target: early in 2016.
Periscope released for Android
Meerkat beat Periscope to the punch on iOS, delivering a Twitter-centric livestreaming video app, but Periscope proved the more polished release. And it's much the same on Android now: Meerkat hit the Play Store at the start of the month, but now Periscope is here.
Periscope is made by Twitter itself, and the company says the app has a familiar Material Design-influenced look and feel, plus it has more detailed settings than the iPhone version. You'll have more control over push notifications, plus there's a "resume notification" that lets you easily pick back up on a stream once exiting. Ready to share your life with the world? Grab it from the Play Store and get to streaming.
2K Games teases new title
E3 is just around the corner, and many developers have been announcing their big games outright - but 2K Games is still up for a good tease. The company has been posting teaser images for a project seemingly called Advent, and it seems to have a dystopian city at its core.
The website is particularly interesting: it advertises the city as a place for healthy living through DNA splicing, but the website is being "hacked" as you read it, with an unknown source calling the facts out as lies. Weird! It seems like a potentially new property, but then again, some of those elements can't help but correspond with BioShock's premise. It doesn't look anything like BioShock, though, so we'll have to wait and see how it shakes out.
