Free games coming to Xbox Game Pass in May 2020

Netflix for gaming is the race to win for console makers, and Xbox is spreading subscription love with its Xbox Game Pass to convince you.

Xbox adds news games every month and removes the old ones. If you haven’t subscribed to it already, then Xbox and PC subscription per month is ₹699, and for an Xbox Game Pass subscription along with Xbox Live Gold for both PC and Xbox together is ₹999/month.

Additionally to this list of games, you also get Xbox Game Studio titles right from the date of release. Games like Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Ori and the Will of the Wisps… Xbox exclusive titles, you get the point.

So if you’ve already subscribed, then here is the list of games that will be free for this month.


The survival game in a zombie-infested landscape and 60 other players who you can team up or gun down. Everything in DayZ will test your virtual survival skills. Don’t eat food? Die of starvation. Don’t find shelter? The changing weather can whack you out. Got injured? Cover it or bleed to death. Found other players on the server? Communicate friendly behaviour or get into a firefight. You can play survival with this lockdown by staying indoors and on DayZ. Two birds with one stone,eh?

Final Fantasy IX

Ported for the new generation console, this ninth game in the Final Fantasy series was released in 2000. It is also claimed to be the best Final Fantasy game in the series with a complex storyline and character-heavy plots. The turn-based combat is also quite a nostalgic trip for retro nerds.

Fractured Minds

This Bafta award winner (indie games) was developed by a 17-year-old girl. It’s a short story exploring mental illness and the game explores the human psyche behind such illnesses with an emotional and personal touch to them. It takes the player through 6 levels with puzzle based challenges.
