Fly me away!

But you don’t have to be a trained pilot to sweep me off my feet

Coming soon to the Indian market will be the world’s first smart-drone that can transmit an HD feed live from the attached GoPro.

Founded by ex-Wired magazine editor and an engineering prodigy, 3DR has some big claims for amateur and professional drone pilots alike. It will be the first to use twin 1GHz computers on-board for unprecedented flight control and shooting modes. The Pixhawk autopilot system is similar to the one used by NASA and Amazon’s delivery drone service, Prime Air.

Ground Control to major tom

3DR says that anyone can fly the Solo, thanks to its Auto take-off and landing features as well as different shoot modes like Cable Cam for shots that simulate a strung cam, Orbit cam for wrap-around shots of buildings or monuments, Selfie-cam for a pull out shot and a follow-me mode for completely hands free shooting. The controller also gives you GoPro control and with the optional Solo Gimbal, you’ll soon be taking footage like pros. A ballistic parachute system and flight rewind mode are amongst the updates that are promised by 3DR soon.

Until we get more details on pricing, this is all we can tell you. But we’re already working on ways to get our hands on it ASAP. Look out for more news soon.
