Affordable VR, almost

Well, "almost" because while they're no Oculus Rift, the VR-ready Karbonn Quattro L52 and Mach Six are indeed very affordable

With prices starting at ₹7490, Karbonn's all out to make VR mainstream.

The VR Glasses that pair with Karbonn's Quattro L52 and Mach Six, both smartphones under Rs 10K, claim to offer an enhanced, life-like viewing experience. Made of sturdy ABS plastic fibre, the glasses come fitted with bi-convex lenses that augment the video to provide a theatre-like all-encompassing experience, and a headband to keep them fixed to your noggin.

What about VR content? Worry not - both the devices come loaded with a library of engaging VR games and video content. If that isn't enough, you can even create your own VR videos using the pre-embedded VR app. (Of course, it'll mean you'll have to share your device when showing off the content to non-VR-equipped folks, so be kind and patient.)

As for the phones themselves, the dual SIM, 4G-enabled Quattro L52 4G LTE, for ₹8790, offers a 5in 2.5D curved glass display, an 8MP rear camera with Sony sensor 5P ff/22 filter and a 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM with expandable MicroSD up to 32GB, powered by a 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor, with supporting role played by a 2250mAh battery.

The cheaper Mach Six has a larger but flatter 6in screen, and a 3300mAh battery but no 4G-capability. But hey, it offers you the VR experience at ₹7490 - isn't that super?
