Alongside the Mi 10 smartphone, Xiaomi just launched its Mi Box in India. And it indeed seems a bit late to the game, since Amazon’s Fire TV stick has been out for quite some time. Still, all is not lost for Xiaomi, as the brand does have a few tricks up its sleeves. For starters, Xiaomi’s Mi Box comes only in one model and gets you 4K streaming capabilities. It’s a one size fits all approach, so it will work with FHD and HD semi-smart TVs as well. All you will need is an HDMI port on your ageing Flat screen TV to spruce things up and get your streaming game on. Unlike Amazon’s Fire TV stick, it also features a USB 2.0 port that lets you plug in a pen drive and play movies from local storage. There’s also a data saver feature that will not just help you save data but will also keep a tab on when you run out of it. Not good enough? Well, it also supports Dolby Digital Plus, DTS and gets you HDR support, but your TV will need the hardware chops to pull this off indeed. And if you are too lazy during this lockdown to press buttons, Mi Box will let you send voice commands from it remotely using Google Assistant and will even let you control your other Mi Devices from it. At ₹3,499, this one’s a steal of a deal indeed and will go on sale on May 11 at 12 p.m.
