Supersize your life with the new Mi Max 2

A massive, 6.44in display meets an equally humongous battery

Remember the Mi Max? Of course you do. That was Xiaomi’s answer to the phablet trend, and boy, did they escalate matters or what with their supersized ‘phone’. The Mi Max 2 picks up from there and it turns the volume up all the way. So you get a 6.44in Full HD display, backed by a massive 5300mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, that’s enough for a full month of standby - or 18 hours of video playback (time to plan a Game of Thrones marathon?). But the Mi Max isn’t just brawn - it’s got the brains, too. Sure, it’s nearly impossible to use this with just one hand, but the unibody metal body does make it seem less unwieldy than you’d imagine. Then there’s 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers (placed for landscape usage), MIUI 8 (based on Android Nougat 7.1.1) and the ever-popular Snapdragon 625 processor. And finally, the 12MP rear camera uses Sony’s IMX386 sensor. The Mi Max 2 will retail at ₹16,999 and goes on sale during Xiaomi’s 3rd anniversary sale (July 20 and 21; head over to the Mi Store or a Mi Home) and will get a wider release (offline and online) on July 27. Xiaomi's also tied up with Reliance Jio for a free data offer - buy a Mi Max 2 and you'll get up to 100GB free.
