It’s always good to let the experts do their thing and with the upcoming OnePlus 9 Series, OnePlus has handed over the reins for their camera smarts to Hasselblad. For the next three years, and with over $150 million in the pot, OnePlus and Hasselblad will join forces to fine-tune the camera quality for accurate and natural-looking colours taken with OnePlus flagship cameras. There’s also a new camera mode called the Hasselblad Pro Mode which brings pro controls for you to fine-tune photos, with the ability to adjust ISO, focus, exposure times, white balance and more. We also know what they will be cooking for the next three years, starting with a panoramic camera with a 140-degree field of view, T-lens technology for lightning-fast focus in the front-facing camera, and a freeform lens (which will be introduced on the OnePlus 9 Series) that practically eliminates edge distortion in ultra-wide photos. It will also have a custom Sony IMX789 sensor for the primary lens with 12-bit RAW capture, which is also rumoured to be in the upcoming Oppo Find X3 Pro. More details will arrive when the OnePlus 9 Series launches officially on the 23rd of March.
