Micromax has decided to aim a lot higher than the midrange with their new phone. And since 2017 is the year of dual cameras, we get 13M+13MP cameras at the rear. Video nuts have it good, too, as the Dual 5 doesn’t just shoot 4K, but can also use its twin cameras to shoot 3D video. The front camera’s also a 13MP unit, so go on, say ‘cheese’ but please go easy on the ‘V’ signs and duckface (that’s soooo 2011). There’s more cool stuff around, though - the Dual 5 comes with 128GB onboard storage, there’s a 5.5in Full HD Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, IR emitter and a 3200mAh battery. There’s even Quick Charge 3.0, USB Type-C, a configurable hardware key, and a tonne of anti-theft software features. The only sore point is that the Dual 5 runs Android Marshmallow, but an update should be on its way. The Dual 5 lists at ₹24,999 and will be available on Flipkart, on Micromax’s online store, and at ‘offline’ shops (you know the kind - where you have to go talk to a salesperson). Registrations are on now, with sales starting April 10.
