After a week of teasing and being listed on Amazon India, Huawei finally made official its Y9s mid-range smartphone. The slick-looking phone that features a pop-up camera may be a bit late to the pop-up camera party, but it surprisingly packs in Google Mobile Services (GMS), which means that it gets the Play Store, Gmail, YouTube and other Google apps that are essential for any Android smartphone. Last we heard, Huawei was not allowed to use GMS because of restrictions imposed by the US government over security issues. But from what we know, the Y9s was the last phone to get the license to use Google services, so this one's still a safe bet. Regardless, the phone is quite interesting and gets you a 6.59-inch LCD FHD+ LCD display that’s all-screen with no holes or notches in sight. Inside, you get a mid-range Kirin 710F chipset that is available in a single 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option. And it’s also packing in some impressive camera hardware with a 48MP (primary) + 8MP (Ultra-wide) + 2MP depth camera and a 16MP selfie camera. Some flagship bits like Huawei famed Night Mode make it here too. All of it is powered by a 4000mAh battery which can be charged using the in-box 10W charger. The Huawei Y9s goes on sale exclusively on Amazon India on May 19 at ₹19,990.
