There has been a Huawei flagship at the top of our Top 10 Smartphones List for more than a year now, and it seems that Huawei has no plans to change it for us. The Mate 30 Pro is spooky (in a good way). It takes the list of limitations you expect from a smartphone and dumps it in the trash with a zeal unseen in recent years. Don’t believe us? Read on and maybe you will. Let’s talk specs. The Mate 30 Pro comes with Huawei’s top of the line 7nm Kirin 990 5G processor, touted to provide an unrivaled level of performance and efficiency. It goes all out on screen real estate as well with more curvature (88 degrees to be precise) than on any other smartphone we have seen so far — Samsung’s S series being the closest. And that’s not just for show. The curvature has made it possible for Huawei to get rid of the volume buttons and simply use a double tap on the edge to adjust the volume. Before we run out of space, let’s get to the most astounding feature — the cameras. Specifically, 7680fps ultra slow-motion shooting. That’s slow enough to make fast-moving objects look like they are standing still. On top of that, the four cameras on the rear include a 40MP main sensor, a 40MP Ultra Wide sensor, a 8MP telephoto, and a 3D depth-sensing camera that take lowlight photography, and videos, to a whole new level. All that goodness does not come cheap though. Maxing out at EUR 1199 (approximately ₹94,138 for 8GB/ 256GB / 5G) the Mate 30 Pro Series does command a flagship.price.
