If the tiger TVCs baffled you, the lengthy Kia launch presentation addressed all doubts. The bold face of the Seltos SUV wears the Signature Tiger Nose grille that Kia proudly puts on most of its cars and on this compact SUV it is flanked by crown jewel LED headlamps, 3D multilayer turn indicators and diamond pattern knurling around the grille. It all makes for a very pretty SUV but we get high on tech and the Seltos offers segment firsts like a 360 camera with blind-view monitor and other safety niceties like Auto Collision Notification, SOS assistance, remote operation of engine and air purifier and a level of AI command. Entertainment isn’t in short supply either with an 8-speaker Bose audio system mated to a 10.25in touchscreen and 7in instrument cluster display. The Seltos also gets a segment first 8in head-up display and 37 “smart” features thanks to its UVO connect interface. Of course, how many of these actually end up being used will remain to be seen but the Seltos has everything going for it - looks, turbo petrol with DCT gearbox, headlining features and oh, that tiger lurking around its nose.
