There’s no doubt a Mercedes is a traditionally beautiful thing to behold. The CLS, ideally a four-door coupe that doesn't adhere to the design conventions of a typical coupe, defined by its two doors is now here in its third gen avatar - the CLS 300D. The improvements are well visible on the exterior as well as under the hood. It retains the stylish swooping roofline and frameless doors of its predecessors, looks less bulky and has softer lines and cleaner surfacing as it follows Mercedes' new Sensual Purity design language. Longer, taller and wider compared to the previous gen, it also comes with stylish interiors with a Virtual Cockpit digital display that almost fuses the infotainment system and the instrument cluster display in a neat design touch. While away the miles listening to your favourite tunes as its 13-speaker Burmester Hi-Fi system is also Apple CarPlay compatible. Launched at a whopping ₹84.70 lacs (ex showroom), the CLS 300D comes with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine putting out 245hp and claims to touch the ton within 6.4 seconds. Now that claim we’ll save for when we put the car to test!
