It’s no secret that SUVs are bought for their image (and to look down upon lesser motorists). But if you’re part of that 0.01% of the SUV buying club that actually wants to get your Skoda’s skirt dirty, the new Scout variant should serve better than the standard fare. With full-time 4WD and a rough-road package protecting this big lady’s undercarriage, it wants to go places that would otherwise be forbidden for a luxury car. And it is a luxury car no doubt. Alcantara and leather clad seats, ambient lighting, 9.2in touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link, a Canton sound system with 10 speakers and 575watts, the biggest panoramic sunroof in its segment, hands-free parking, virtual boot life release and the list goes on. Back seat passengers get pampered too with a Power Nap package that comes with headrests with support and fluffy blankets for two! The heart is a direct transplant from the regular Kodiaq which means you get a 2.0L diesel engine that churns out 150bhp/340Nm through a 7-speed DSG auto box. Now, go find that off-road trail which leads to the Hilton because it still costs a healthy ₹33.99lacs (ex-showroom of course)…
