Hello smart-everything aficionados, fancy controlling lights with the power of voice? Then take a look at these and switch things up.
We pit three smart light bulbs head to head to find out which one shines bright like a diamond.
Syska smart bulb (₹799)
It’s priced between the other two smart bulbs and offers the quality of the same value. Better than Wipro but not as good as Xiaomi. The Syska smart bulb works only with Alexa – sorry Google fans. Although Syska’s smart bulb launched before the tube light, there’s an option to pick up the tube light which works with Alexa and Google.
It can go really dim, so night light duties are best served here. Although it occasionally stumbles with Wi-Fi connection and rarely changes colour using Alexa. You need to have patience to deal with this. Opening the app and manually adjusting the colour and brightness seems to kill the point, but if you’re on a tight budget, it’s decent.
Low price is not the best reason to picking up this half-baked smart bulb
Xiaomi Mi LED smart bulb (₹1,299)
A perfect gateway to smart lighting at home
Wipro Wi-Fi smart bulb (from ₹519)
For under a grand this is probably the most accessible smart bulb for the masses. Wipro also is the only brand in this list that offers flexibility in terms of size and connectivity. Your options come in two sizes and two bulb holder options – E27 and B22. B22 is your Indian standard and E27 is the new screw-in American standard.
This is the cheapest smart bulb here on the list and that reflects back into its quality too. It works with both Alexa and Google Assistant but flickers every now and then. We reviewed both the sizes and the blinking problem happened only with the smaller sized smart bulb.
It won’t disappoint you with its low price, but don’t expect a seamless experience
