Now that the PM has finally spoken and extended that nationwide lockdown period till May 3, you are sure to get bored ahead.

But to keep those thirsty eyeballs occupied, you need some recommendations on movies or TV show titles. And if you are interested in crime shows, then here’s a list of five new TV shows that will keep you glued to your TV sets all day long. And we bet you will want to finish an entire season in a day since the climax cannot be left for another day.

Bhaukaal (MX Player) (1 Season)

Bhaukaal is the story of SSP Naveen Sikhera (played by Mohit Raina), who cleanses the city of Muzaffarnagar infested with criminals. The city is in a state of chaos and utter lawlessness. When Naveen Sikhera joins Muzzafarnagar as the new SSP, he is challenged by utter despair of people living under the fear of local gangs. He reforms the police and nabs any and every effort of the criminals to take control of the city. Indeed, his heroic mission is to make Muzzafarnagar from a ‘crime capital’ to a ‘peace capital’. Directed by Jatin Satish Wagle, this action-packed thriller web series is a 10-episode crime story in a single season (for now). Put your kids to sleep, lock up the doors and windows so that your neighbours don’t get any weird ideas about your movie tastes.

She (Netflix) (1 Season)

She is a story about Bhumi (Aaditi Pohankar), a timid Mumbai constable, who is given an undercover assignment to expose a drug ring. The assignment soon becomes the road to empowerment as she realises the potential of her dormant sexuality. A creation of Imtiaz Ali, She is a single season TV show spanning 7 episodes.  Make sure you have enough ice cream in stock and your kids are asleep.

State of Siege: 26/11 (Zee5) (1 Season)

An 8-episode action thriller, this crime recreation is about how the NSG waged a war against the terrorists during the 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai in 2008. Created by Abhimanyu Singh, the story shows the gruesome truth about how the Mumbai Police was underpowered and unprepared, how the NSG was delayed and ill-equipped and how the media played a role to make things worse. The story is a tale of the brave NSG soldiers who fought at the Taj Hotel and the Chabad house, and based on Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11 by Sandeep Unnithan. Get your family settled – this show will keep you busy for the entire day.

City Of Dreams (Hotstar) (1 Season)

This political drama will keep you hooked for hours together. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the story revolves around the Gaikwad family and the politics of Maharashtra, starring Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Eijaz Khan and Siddharth Chandekar. The 10-part series shows hardcore politics played by a hot-blooded young son during his father’s coma period to gain the position of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. But just before his dreams come true, his older sister comes into the picture to twist the entire story around. A must-watch family drama that will exhaust your popcorn stock for a week.

Special Ops (Hotstar) (1 Season)

Kay Kay Menon plays Himmat Singh, who leads RAW (Research and Analysis wing) to bring down that one mastermind behind 19 years of terrorism. Joining the dots, he deploys a 5-person team of agents to different parts of the world on the mission. The story spans over 8 episodes where Himmat Singh is grilled by the government’s audit meeting to explain where and why a hefty amount of 28 crore was spent over the last 11 years of his tenure. While he explains where the amount went (on different agents around the world), he also refuses to give out their identity. Watch the entire series with suspense and climax like a saw-tooth graph.

THE RAIKAR CASE (Voot Select) (1Season)

The Raikar Case is a propulsive thriller drama series, about family, love, deceit, and. The story grapples with the dilemma of ‘Will you choose truth over family?’, and if trust can ever really be absolute. Secret and lies are exposed when the youngest member of the family commits suicide – leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and suspects. It’s a case where every member of the family becomes a suspect, and each having a powerful motive to kill! Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, a seasoned cast naming Kulkarni, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashvini Bhave, Parul Gulati, Kunal Karan Kapoor will keep you hooked for all seven episodes.
