4 things you need to know about the Magnetic Fields Festival 2017

‘Law of Attraction’ is the theme this year for the Magnetic Fields Festival 2017. Gypsies, hippies, ravers and nomads from India, The Magnetic Fields festival is back and Stuff India is here to dive in with you.

For others who don’t know, this is a festival of contemporary music, arts and culture held in the midst of a desert in a remote village called Alsisar, Rajasthan from the 15th to 17th of December. It’s set up in and around a royal palace (mahal), which was earlier the residence of the Thakur of Alsisar.

It’s now become the perfect place for tourists to find solace and let loose. If you’re looking out to go for a surreal adventure, then forget those mainstream festivals. This is something that you should look forward to instead. Something that can change your life. In short, it’s one of a kind.

Here’s why you should be excited about the Magnetic Field Festival 2017:

 

1) How to I get there?

Getting to the Magnetic Field Festival is a bit of a task. Situated in a remote village called Alsisar, Rajasthan, there are only a few ways you can get to this place. Your options are:

Train -

You’ll find a daily train from Sarai Rohilla, New Delhi to Sadulpur junction (4hours).

You’d then have to hail a cab to Alsisar (45min)

Car -

The fastest way to Alsisar by road is from Jaipur (around 4 hours).

If you’re coming from Delhi expect your travel time to be around 6 hours.

Flight -

Fly to directly to Jaipur if you’re coming especially for the festival, else, you can chart your route accordingly.

3) Artist line up and things to do

With every festival that takes place, the performing artists never stay the same. They always change. The artist line up is the first thing we all want to see before even thinking of going for any festival. You don’t wanna go for a festival with music that you despise, right?

At the magnetic field festival, there are plenty of artists playing all kinds of genres. Ranging from techno, rock, indie, house, underground, reggae and the list goes on. Most of these artists aren’t really heard of on the mass scale. But if you’re really into music, partying all night, meeting new people from all around the world, then this is a festival you must visit. We bet you’ll have your Shazam on all the time.

4) What else can I look forward to?

The Magnetic Field Festival has organised a load of activities and things to do whilst you’re not at the stage or tent. You could be dilly-dallying somewhere or dying of dehydration. Either ways, check out The Saavn Sundowner, Bira 91 Freeflow Garden, The Hydra, Resident Advisor, Different Train 1947, the Piano Man Jazz Club, BFR Sound System and more to be announced.
