Tarantino: A retrospective (£25)
Bold, brash and splattered with blood: Quentin Tarantino has never been a man to make shy, retiring movies. From Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs to Kill Bill and Django Unchained, fire up one of his flicks and there’s a feeling you might want to cover the walls lest you have to re-paint.
Beyond the gore, though, Tarantino has delivered some properly iconic slices of cinema over the last two decades – and this suitably vivid celebration of his back-catalogue explores nine of his greatest hits in all their gaudy detail.
Nolan 4K Collection (£90)
From mind-bending sci-fi and space flicks to magic thrillers, war epics and dark superhero remakes, it seems there's little that celebrated director Christopher Nolan can't tackle with his intense and arresting brand of cinematography.
Any one of the films in this new box set release would be a fine introduction to his work, but for the full Nolan experience there's only one way to do it: draw the curtains, fire up your 4K TV and enjoy all seven back-to-back in stunning Ultra HD.
Oh, and make sure your speaker system is up to scratch: the bundle is something of an homage to Hanz Zimmer, with all but one of the movies scored by the soundtrack maestro.
Q Acoustics 3010i 5.1 Cinema Pack (£799)
Good as soundbars have become, they’re no substitute for the total immersion of proper surround sound. Ask nicely and Santa might bring you this Q Acoustics package – arguably the best bang-for-buck audio bundle around.
Spend Christmas Day wiring up, mounting and adjusting the five speakers and subwoofer that make up the outfit and, by Boxing Day, you’ll have clear, balanced and punchy sound – the perfect finishing touch to your movie room.
Hulk Mug (£12)
Didn't get the presents you wished for this Christmas? Slam down this fist mug to show your festive rage.
Admittedly, slopping your tea on the table is perhaps a little less intimidating than an actual Hulk smash, but it's the thought that counts, right?
It's also the perfect way to raise a toast to the late Stan Lee, father of so many Marvel legends, who sadly passed away this year.
Lego James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (£130)
"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr Claus, I expect you to build."
From Santa with love, live and let play with this kit fit for a spy: faithful to the Goldfinger original, the brick-built DB5 packs all the tricks you'll need to keep your miniature enemies at bay – including an ejector seat, revolving number plates, machine guns and tyre scythes.
Don't have time on the 25th? You can always try another day.
Now TV 4K HDR Smart Box (£46)
Itching for your fix of bovine action? Connect this streaming box to your TV for countless moo-vies and sirloin series on demand – including original shows Got beef?, Game of Loins and The Milkmaiden’s Tale – all in glorious 4K.
Oh, wait. Sorry. We were talking about COW TV. Still, NOW TV isn’t bad for 4K flicks, either.
