While some sporty earphones make their intentions very obvious with neon paint jobs and extra scaffolding to stop them slipping from your earholes, Jabra’s Elite Active 65t could easily pass for a regular pair of true wireless buds.
But with their secure fit and built-in motion sensors, the 65ts can count your steps and record the duration of your workouts, with the info fed back to the accompanying smartphone app. They’re also IP56 water- and dust-resistant.
When you’re not pounding the pavement, those sensors are used to automatically pause your tunes when you take one of the buds out of your ear, although detection can be a bit off. They also have controls built in, but with just a single button on each one catering for various different functions, it can be difficult to remember which one does what.
The Bluetooth connection is solid and sound quality should please all but the pickiest of audiophiles. We found them to be nicely balanced with plenty of punch. The app offers an EQ for further tweaking, plus you can also adjust how much external noise they let in, with three fairly self-explanatory settings: Commute, Focus and Active.
They come with the customary charging case, which gives you 10 hours of playback on top of the five that you’ll get when you first take them out. If you just need a quick top-up before you head out you can squeeze 1.5 hours of playback into them in just 15 minutes.

Great-sounding wireless buds, for in and out of the gym, but a few usability niggles keep them from being perfect
