Video: Nvidia Project Shield’s AFK streaming in action

Wireless streaming from a PC to Nvidia’s upcoming handheld console shown off in first of new weekly blog series

Nvidia has posted a video of its Android-powered Project Shield console in action, the first in a weekly series that will look at the upcoming handheld console’s features in detail.

The first video shows off Project Shield’s “AFK” mode: the ability to stream games from your PC to the Project Shield handheld. Basically, this mode lets you play PC games from anywhere in your house, with the PC itself doing the heavy lifting and streaming video to the console. It’s a lot like a personal version of OnLive.

Nvidia will be publishing a new blog post on Project Shield every Monday. Project Shield is one of several upcoming consoles we're excited about; read more about them here.
