But we're also excited by the AT200's 1.2GHz dual-core processor and expandable 32GB storage. The 10.1in AT200 is 7.7mm thick and weighs just 535g. That makes it slimmer and lighter than an iPad 2 (8.8mm, 601g), a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (8.6mm, 565g) or even the business half of ASUS' Transformer Prime (8.3mm, 586g).</p> <p>Fortunately, our suite of tablet tests involves more than just whipping out a ruler. Its 720p videos are a little jerky, though, and there's no built-in flash either. The good news is that the most important camera – the front facing one for video calls – is very good compared to its peers. It's a snappy chip in general use, although it suffers from the problem that more games are optimised for Tegra tablets than other chips, and it lags far behind the quad-core Tegra 3 in the Transformer Prime. But that's not enough to make Toshiba's AT200 competitive enough at the price. If you’ve got £400 to spend the Toshiba is nice, but we'd rather go for the screen quality and battery life of any one of its cheaper rivals – like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Apple iPad 2, or perhaps the quirkiness of the Eee Pad Slider.
