The music mobiles market is exploding, with Toshiba the latest giant to take on Sony Ericssons's excellent W800i Walkman phone.

Looking similar to the Sharp 903 camphone, the Vodafone-exclusive 803 is a 3G affair with an external 1.3in screen and dedicated buttons for listening when the clamshell is closed.

With over-the-air downloads from Vodafone Live!, smartphone functionality and a 2.2megapixel camera, it will compete directly with advanced music mobiles such as Nokia's forthcoming N91.

It lacks the hard-drive of Samung's direct rival, the i300, but you can hot-swap SD cards for more storage and there's a claimed 11 hours talk-time.

You'll be able to pick one up for free on contract. For more info, get your hands on the December issue of Stuff, out 3rd November.
