November 2011

Sometimes we’re hoodwinked by technology. A new type of gadget struts past, flutters its brilliantly thought-out and spectacularly well-engineered eyelashes at us and we get a funny feeling that everything is about to change. Most of the time it doesn’t, but since the iPad eyed us up last year, the change has been meteoric and voluminous.
Tablet computers are everywhere. Some look amazing, some seem made of Tic-Tac boxes, some have already died and gone to heaven (we’ll miss you, TouchPad. Well, sorta).
We’ve entered a whole new era of personal computing, and now’s the time to embrace it. To help, we’ve tested 26 tablets suitable for every depth and width of pocket, and laid out the results for you in our Ultimate Guide.
Perhaps we're being duped again, but potentially revolutionary gadgets seem particularly abundant this month.
Sony’s gone crazy with not only a 3D visor, but 3D binoculars. Toshiba’s got a big-screen 3D TV that doesn’t need glasses. And we’ve pitted three new slave droids against one another.
The robots’ crawl to world domination is slow, but if they’re anything like the Best Games Ever (also in this issue), it won’t be that long before they’re revolutionising our lives, too.
Stuff's November issue is out in the shops now.
