Chilly Chairs, gaming glory and Tesla tributes – Office Cat goes on the prowl for nuggets of news

Researchers at Tokyo's University of Electro-Communications are aiming to give movie-goers the shivers – they've invented the Chilly Chair, which stimulates the hairs on your arms to add a frisson of excitement to the scary moments in horror films. Office Cat prefers to keep his fur unruffled, and will stick to curling up on his Eames Lounge Chair, thank you very much.

Chilly Chair zaps horror movie viewers

Online comic The Oatmeal is trying to drum up support for a museum dedicated to science pioneer Nikola Tesla – the land where one of his laboratories was sited is up for sale, and if US$850,000 can be raised, it'll save the property from being bought up for retail development. Tesla, of course, claimed that he became interested in electricity when playing with his cat. Office Cat just wanted to make everyone aware of that fact.
