Stuff Office Cat’s Diary – 11/06/13

360 degree photos, diving about in mud for fun, a Galaxy Ace 3 and flying waiters all make Office Cat's list today

Bubblepod

From the omniscient creators of the Bubblescope comes the Bubblepod. A simple wind-up rubberised dock, now on Kickstarter, that spins your phone for cats to play with. It also works with the app to stitch together perfectly balanced 360-degree photos.

Stuff Mudders

Office Cat loves running about in nature but even he sat out last weekend's Tough Mudder challenge. The Stuff team didn’t have that option. Lucy ran near barefoot after losing her shoe soles, Esat suffered with contact lenses, Tom tested the Jawbone Up to its limit, and Luke managed to get the cut knees of a child. The Stuff team beat Tough Mudder. With several challenges a year, listed here, why not see if you can do it too? Oh yeah, the pain.

More after the break...

Flying burgers

Yo Sushi! has started employing robot labour to promote its new Yo Burger. He probably won’t stay on long. Well, you wouldn’t tip him, would you?

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Sammy has outed its updated budget mobile in the 4in 800x480 Galaxy Ace 3. With LTE, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage (with microSD expansion to 64GB), Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a 5MP snapper – even budget phones are starting to sound impressive.

Leica X Vario bringing zoom to the X range

Leica has officially launched the X Vario, an APS-C camera with a 28-70mm zoom lens and 16.2MP sensor. Essentially, this is an X2 with the fixed focal length lens replaced by a zoomer, although there are some changes to the design beyond the (rather large) lens. It’s available now for around £2,150.
