Specialized S-Works Tarmac review

The Specialised S-Works Tarmac costs a mint, but then its carbon monocoque frame does weigh less than 1kg and the whole bike a mere 7.6kg…

This is the kind of bike that’ll set you off down the road like a whippet on speed, if only because you’ll want to get your money’s worth. The £3600 price tag certainly inspires shock and awe.

There’s enough carbon in the Specialized S-Works Tarmac to spawn a whole new ecosystem, if we only knew in what order to rearrange the molecules and how much water to use – we’d grow an acre of them.

Thanks to all that science the carbon monocoque frame weighs less than 1kg, and the whole bike a mere 7.6kg. Absolutely, saliva-drippingly beautiful.
