Sony Honami phone crams in a 20MP camera

Spec fiends beware – you'll be drooling after seeing what Sony has in the works for its rumoured handset…

It seems like only yesterday that the Sony Xperia Z landed at Stuff Towers and blew us all away with its full HD screen, quad-core innards and waterproof skills, but that hasn't stopped rumours of an even more impressive Sony superphone from reaching our ears.

Dubbed the Sony Honami by a Baidu forum member claiming to be an Xperia tester, Sony's mysterious handset will feature a 5in full HD display and a 20MP Cyber-shot camera with Carl Zeiss lens, as well as a Xenon flash in addition to the standard dual LED affair.

Not only that, but the Sony Honami is said to also feature Qualcomm's mighty 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor which is capable of 4K video recording.

Throw in 2GB of RAM, a 2700-3000mAh battery and a separate Walkman audio chip for audiophiles to sink their teeth into, and you're looking at a Sony handset which should give even the mighty HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 something to worry about come its eventual release.

A second handset, the Sony Togari, is also mentioned – it reportedly features a 6.4in full HD screen with an Xperia Z-like design, pitting it against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

That's all we have for the time being, so stay tuned for more tasty morsels as and when we get them.
