Burn rubber with GP2 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia
Be treated to two additional adrenaline-filled races during the F1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. The GP2, widely recognised as the premier feeder category for Formula One, returns to Singapore for the second time. During its 2012 debut in Singapore, the 31-lap feature race was won by England’s Max Chilton, while Dutchman Giedo van der Garde took the lead for the 22-lap sprint. Both men are now fully-fledged Formula One™ drivers with Marussia and Caterham respectively.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia celebrates a decade of high-calibre sportscar racing in this part of the world, dominated by the Europeans and Kiwis in the cockpit of the 3797cc six-cylinder machines.
The race also features a Class B category for non-professional drivers, and Singapore’s very own Yuey Tan flies the local flag and is joined by Singapore-based Dorr McElrea Racing man who is currently second to Mentos Racing’s Egidio Perfett.
