Michael Bay's reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies has generated a lot of controversy last year, with accusations that Bay was taking far too many liberties with the source material.
Well, judge for yourself - the new trailer for the film starring the eponymous turtles and Megan Fox is out.
It does the standard spiel of 'the world is under threat and heroes emerge from seemingly nowhere' you get from action films of its ilk. But for many of us who grew up with the TMNT crew, this could either be the best thing ever or perhaps the worst kind that'll make you want to gouge your eyes out.
With Fox playing intrepid reporter April O'Neal, this is somewhat reminiscent to Bay's last big-budget foray into cartoon nostalgia with the Transformers franchise.
Not enough cowabunga, dude!
Though the trailer shows promise, it's a little disappointing how dark it is. The TMNT series was known for dollops of humour and fun, so it's questionable what sort of audience Bay is going for with this one.
More cowabunga, less attempting to focus too much about plot please.
